Danielle Gadus is an artist living and working in Brooklyn, NY who uses silk as a primary medium. Altering the state of the fabric by hand dying, she invites the interaction of silk + entropic elements such as wind or gravity to explore sensual modes of perception and encourage a sense of presence.
With this collection, she releases a set of four banners made of acid dyed silk and steel. Modular in nature, they are suited to be presented as solo works or in tandem with each other.
Details: Each silk banner is 8 x 22 in (20 x 56 cm). Hand dyed silk is hung from an 11 in (28 cm) long steel bar and cotton hanging string. Can be hung with or without string. The fabric gently sways and floats with the ambient airflow or breeze.
